LA Dream Center

You must be 18 years or older for this trip OR at least 15 years old (by July 12, 2021) and accompanied by a parent.

In 1994, Pastor Tommy Barnett and his son Matthew founded the Dream Center, a nonprofit organization located in the heart of Los Angeles. Compelled by a vision to reconnect isolated people to God and community, the Dream Center offers support and services that impact the areas of homelessness, hunger, poverty, addiction, education, and human trafficking. Currently, the Dream Center reaches 40,000 people every month through dozens of programs and outreaches.

When you visit the Dream Center on a mission trip, you have the opportunity to be a part of many of the life-changing outreaches that take place daily. From playing with neglected kids in under-resourced neighborhoods, busing hurting people from the streets to church, and handing out food and other necessities to those experiencing homelessness on Skid Row, you get to play a role in bringing hope and help to the broken of Los Angeles.

With the Dream Center Short Term Missions experience, you will work hard, pray loud and return home a different person. With the Dream Center, through Jesus, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the miracle of restoration in countless lives around Los Angeles.

Total trip cost is $1,150.

Where will we stay?

Our team will stay at the LA Dream Center. The accommodations are dorm-style with a cafeteria and meeting rooms.

What will we eat?

All of your meals are provided by the Dream Center in their cafeteria. Unfortunately, they are unable to accommodate special diet requests.

What should I bring?

Please bring everything that you will need for showering and daily hygiene. The Dream Center will provide towels, washcloths, and all of your bedding. You will need a pair of shower shoes, closed-toe shoes, and clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty or ruined. Many work-related tasks include cleaning and serving on the streets of L.A. You will want to bring shorts (please make sure they are modest length), jeans, a sweatshirt or jacket (it may get cold at night), t-shirts (girls: please do not bring tank tops). Bring one church outfit.
