3 week series / September 9 - How to Tame Your Monster

Most of us experience the damaging monster that comes from finances, debt, and fights about budgets. We know that creating the monster is all too easy: it's simply your name for something like a new credit card.

STEP 01 Join us

We are in a new series called How to Tame Your Monster. Through this 3-week series we are going to explore what God says about money, debt and managing what we have.

Take it a step further and invite a friend, a co-worker, your family - this message is for all of us!

STEP 02 sign up for fpu

We believe that when our financial posture, disciplines, and habits improve, then our families, marriages, dreams, and ministry will align with the great plan God has for each of us.

Financial Peace University is a 9-week journey through the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more.

of us are living beyond our financial limits and feeling crushed by debt - it keeps us from being the family, the church, the leaders, and dreamers we were meant to be.

AND If you still need convincing that we all need help either getting out of debt or learning to steward our finances by Biblical standards, check out some of these amazing statistics:

  • 70% of us are "Normal" - broke and busted
    • Statistically over $30k in debt
    • Annual income is $40-$60k
    • It'll take you almost 6 years to pay off your debt
  • 16% of us are "Bankrupt"
    • Statistically we have 2 new cars ($32k), school loan ($20k), and credit card debt ($8k)
    • Total monthly expenses: $2,840
  • 2% of us are experiencing "Death by Credit Cards"
    • Same as the "Bankrupt" 16% above, but add an additional $100k to credit card debt
    • Too much pressure - you've lost all hope!

September 9th, separate from our weekend messages,
CityHope will be starting a 9-week journey through Dave
Ramsey's Financial Peace University.

Each campus will host 6 classes a week - you’ll
have your pick of classes across six days every week

What is Financial Peace University?

Financial Peace University is a nine-lesson, money-management class taught by America's most trusted financial guru, Dave Ramsey. Dave and his teaching team will walk you through the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more.

Life-Changing Lessons

Watch entertaining videos, get your questions answered with financial coaching assistance, and stay on track with digital tools.

  • Budget, save and pay off debt.

  • Get on the same page with your spouse.

  • Identify which types of insurance you need.

  • Plan and save for major expenses.

  • Invest for your future, give generously, and more.

Dave has been there before. He gets it.

Dave Ramsey created Financial Peace University nearly 25 years ago after learning how to pay off debt, save and spend wisely, and build wealth. Today, millions have used the same principles to transform their lives.

What happens during a FPU class?

Classes are centered around tables where, with a small group, we’ll watch a 45-minute video lesson. Dave Ramsey will walk us through the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more. We wrap up with a group discussion, Q&A and celebration of what God has already done. Each week there will be homework to keep you engaged in the journey during the week.

is there a cost?

Yes - one FPU kit per family is required. CityHope is able to offer these for $90 - normally a $149 value.

Not a problem - at each campus we  have a class every day (except Fridays). You can jump into the class that best fits your schedule that week.

will childcare be provided?

Yes - childcare will be provided. Kids in 1st - 6th grade will even receive FPU teachings while their parents are in the adult class.
