WHAT'S A HOUSE PARTY?

CityHope House Parties is an important part of our church. Friends and families are gathering in homes all across Baldwin and Mobile Counties to experience church online together. This is something you might already do or want to do, and we want to help make it the best experience possible for you. You will worship and study God’s word together through the weekend service. We also have amazing kids resources ready for you to set you up to win with families. You can do this and we are here to help! Click here for FAQ

HOST AT YOUR HOME

HOW TO HOST A HOUSE PARTY

BEFORE:

  1. Atmosphere
    Create an atmosphere that is warm and inviting for everyone attending your house party. This is your opportunity to welcome people before they even come into your home.
  2. Coffee
    Who doesn’t love coffee? Whether it is coffee, doughnuts, or a potluck brunch, having something for people to enjoy helps create conversation and spark community. For your first House Party, doughnuts are on us!
  3. Music
    Music can help make your House Party come alive! Grab a speaker or use a device to set the mood when your guests walk through the door. Throw together a playlist or use one that we use on Sunday.

DURING:

  1. Watch
    If you have an Apple TV, AmazonTV, or Roku, Youtube works best! 
    YouTube Live is our preferred platform for House Parties. Just search for CityHopeLive, but if this doesn’t work for you, you can always try http://cityhope.cc/live  

    Kids Services     are available at http://cityhope.cc/kids or on Vimeo if you search for CityHopeKids
  2. Setup
    Have chairs or seats set up. Do your best to socially distance. Have an area for the kids if there’s room. Be creative and use your space to help people feel comfortable!
  3. Be Engaged
    Don’t worry about participating in the chat, be with the people in the room. Encourage your House Party to worship, take notes, and enjoy church. When it is time to worship, stand, sing, and raise your hands, you are the initiator. It will change the atmosphere of your home.

AFTER:

  1. Close with Prayer
  2. Take attendance
    All you have to do is let us know how many people are watching with you.
  3. Set next week’s location!
    Your home can be the new spot, or encourage others in the group to rotate! Whatever you decide, make a decision before you leave that way your people have something concrete to look forward to!

Anyone! You don’t have to be in a group or leading a current group to host a House Pary. You just need to open up your space, set the time and invite people in.

To ensure the best health and safety practices others will join your House Party by your personal invite.

Nothing too crazy! Internet access and a screen large enough for your guest to view the service streamed from either live.cityhope.cc or youtube.com/cityhopelive from your smart TV. 

ABSOLUTELY! It’s your house, which means your rules! It’s our standard to practice the guidelines set forth by the CDC. We want our people together and safe.

First off, that’s awesome! We want to celebrate that! Get their info so we can celebrate with them and help them through the next steps. Enter their info into the link cityhope.cc/saved and choose your campus so that our campus staff can reach out to them! But you keep the connection strong. Discipleship is something you can begin in your home!
